This 100% pure spun fine weight silk is strong and smooth with a beautiful sheen. It is incredibly well behaved as a silk thread, with significantly less knotting and 'fluffing' than silk floss or filament.

Zoe @ Paint-Box Threads has done an incredible job hand dying the silk which adds subtle variation along the length of the thread. This results in added depth and interest to your stitch work.

The silk 15 color boxes are designed to give stitchers a palette of coordinating colors that sit beautifully together in a single project or can be split up to add something special to a piece. This fine weight silk is an excellent thread for hand quilting, hand embroidery, cross stitch and blackwork, and has even been used in lace and hardanger. Although it is not a split-able thread it can be doubled or tripled up to great effect for a more dramatic line.
