This hand dyed raw silk from House of Embroidery in South Africa is a natural fiber with a lustrous sheen in a matt finish. Each card has 30m of a single strand of 100% silk. I used this recently in Jenny Aiden Christie's puffin class for the or nue border and instantly knew I needed to add this to the Wooly Thread repertoire. Its cashmere-like feel makes it feel luxurious in hand. And HOE has knocked it out of the park with their color selection in this line of 116 choices.

Stronger and shinier than cotton, silk thread can add visual interest and texture to your embroidery, be it quilting, needle point, cross stitch or whatever your creative genius comes up with. This hand dyed silk thread is ideal for antique embroidery pieces, highly detailed needlepoint as well as lacework or Jacobean- style embroidery where very fine thread is required. Fine silk thread can also be used very successfully in tassel jewelry or home décor such as scatter cushion tassel work.
